What You Should Know About Fat Freezing
It's not surgery. In the first few minutes you'll feel intense cold and a pulling sensation, then the area goes numb and the rest of the treatment is comfortable – many clients read or check their phone during the session. Some sensitivity or bruising can occur for a few days afterward.
The treatment is non-invasive: no cuts, needles, anesthesia, or downtime. The cold targets fat cells while protecting your skin and muscle. Most reactions are mild and temporary. Important: this isn't a substitute for weight loss – it's a localized, targeted body contouring treatment.
Honestly: redness, swelling, bruising, and temporary numbness in the treated area are common and short-lived, clearing up within days to weeks. Longer-lasting reactions are rare – which is exactly why we do a consultation beforehand and talk through who shouldn't get this treatment.
Depending on the area, it's typically 1–3 sessions, and the same area can be treated again roughly every 3 weeks. The first changes appear after a few weeks, with more visible results typically developing over 8–12 weeks as your body gradually clears out the destroyed cells.
The destroyed fat cells are gone for good – as an adult, your body doesn't grow new ones to replace them. With a stable weight and regular exercise, the results last; but if you gain significant weight, the remaining cells can still grow. That's why it's best to think of this as body contouring, not a miracle weight-loss fix.
